About Us

The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines the verb “coach” as “to tutor, train, give hints to, prime with facts.” Other definitions include; a person who trains or directs athletes or athletic teams, a person who gives instruction, as in singing or acting, a private tutor employed to prepare a student for an examination. What do these definitions have in common? They describe a formalized relationship in which one person helps another to achieve their goals, hopes and dreams.

Why do you need performance coaching?

Because, like the heroes in the myths, we all need an external party interested in our growth to cajole us, press us, to get our best efforts from us. Most of our efforts at self-coaching come from whatever we learned from our parents, books or Yoda in Star Wars and most of these self-coaching efforts are less than effective. A coach can empower us to achieve our goals better than a book because a coach can check up on us and encourage us and ask us the right questions at the right time.

Why choose me?

Most Life-Coaches operate from a script or planned schedule of questions and goals. I offer client-centered coaching. My goal is to help you reach your goals, not to manipulate you to accept some version of what is good for you. Often we are faced with choices or changes in our lives that we can’t share with our friends or that are outside the scope of our friend’s helpfulness yet we aren’t looking for therapy. I can provide you with a safe place to explore your situation and help you to gain clarity with your values and your journey. If we enter into a coaching relationship together, I will be honest with you, gentle with you and accessible to you. I will guide you, support you, and motivate you toward meeting your goals. Sessions can be done at my office or by phone and office sessions can be taped or digitally recorded at your request.
